ABout BDAP
The Wharton Blockchain and Digital Asset Project is a research initiative focused on the evolving blockchain phenomenon. BDAP functions as a thinktank and a connection point. It provides balanced, research-based perspectives on topics such as regulation of digital assets, governance of blockchain networks, emergence of decentralized finance (DeFi), and prospects for a new era of Web3. It also draws on world-class Wharton/Penn faculty, alumni, and students, as well as relationships with officials and industry experts from around the world, to bridge gaps among stakeholder communities.
Director
Kevin Werbach
Kevin Werbach is the Liem Sioe Liong/First Pacific Company Professor, and Chair of the Department of Legal Studies & Business Ethics at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is the director and founder of the Wharton Blockchain and Digital Asset Project. A world-renowned expert on emerging technology, he examines business and policy implications of developments such as broadband, big data, gamification, and blockchain. Previously, Werbach served on the Obama Administration’s Presidential Transition Team, founded the Supernova Group (a technology conference and consulting firm), led internet policy at the Federal Communications Commission, and created a massive open online course with nearly 500,000 enrollments. His books include For the Win: How Game Thinking Can Revolutionize Your Business and The Blockchain and the New Architecture of Trust.

Bianca Kremer
Bianca Kremer earned her doctorate at the University of St. Gallen, on the intersection between blockchains and international commercial arbitration law. She previously served as a postdoctoral Visiting Scholar at BDAP.
Dimitrios Psarrakis
Dimitris Psarrakis is the co-founer of ValueVerse and a financial economist with 20 years of experience in corporate finance, banking and financial regulation. For seven years he was an Economic and Monetary Policy Specialist at the European Parliament where he helped develop the EU’s digital finance rules.
Daniel Resas
Daniel Resas is an expert on legal, policy, and governance aspects of digital assets. He was co-founder of Bubbles, a Web3 communications platform, and serves as a legal advisor to a number of blockchain-related projects.
